Mr. Martin Maxwell was born in Vienna, Austria. During Kristall-Nacht (Crystal night) 1938, he went on the Kindertransport to England. There, he joined the British Army and as a glider pilot took part in D-Day Operations on June 6, 1944 – Normandy. He fought in the battle of Arnheim, Holland, was wounded and taken prisoner. After the war Mr. Maxwell worked in the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. on War Crimes Investigation. He came to Canada in 1952 and is currently a member of the Christian-Jewish Dialogue Committee and the Holocaust Education Committee.
